Unlocking Higher Education Opportunities in the U.S.

Greetings from the Department of English!

We are excited to announce that the Department of English successfully organized a workshop titled "Unlocking Higher Education Opportunities in the U.S." in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 11:15 AM in Room No. A 302.

The workshop began with an engaging welcome speech delivered by Dr. Md Shamim Mondal, Associate Professor, Department of English, Green University of Bangladesh. His introduction set the tone for a productive and informative session that followed.

The core of the workshop was led by Mukta Das, an EducationUSA Advisor, who guided participants through an enlightening presentation about higher education opportunities in the U.S.. Students were provided with a comprehensive overview of the U.S. higher education system, the application process, admission requirements, and crucially, scholarship opportunities and financial aid available to international students. The interactive session was not only informative but also energizing, inspiring students to explore their opportunities for higher education abroad.

The event was graced by our Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor, Green University of Bangladesh, who, despite his busy schedule, joined the event to offer his invaluable support. We were also honored to have our Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, as our Special Guest, whose presence and thought-provoking words further enriched the event.

The workshop concluded with Prof. Dr. M Shahidullah, Chairperson of the Department of English and Dean (Acting), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, delivering the closing remarks. He thanked all attendees, particularly the resource person, Mukta Das, for sharing her expertise and insights with the students and faculty of Green University of Bangladesh.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mukta Das and the U.S. Embassy for making this event possible, and we look forward to more such collaborative initiatives that help our students reach greater heights in their academic and professional journeys.
