Department of English Organizes Orientation Program for Fall Semester 2026 (Batch 262)

The Department of English, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), successfully organized the Orientation Program for Fall Semester 2026 (Batch 262) on 27 September 2026 at A-302, welcoming a new group of enthusiastic students to the Green University family.

The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Elham Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of English and Director of GCiA, followed by an introduction to the freshers and faculty members. An informative presentation on the Department of English was delivered by M. Ashiqur Rahaman Sourav, Lecturer, Department of English and Assistant Proctor, Green University of Bangladesh, providing the newly admitted students with an overview of the Department, its academic environment, and their new university community.

An engaging Q&A session led by Kashfia Israt, Lecturer and Assistant Program Coordinator, provided the freshers with an opportunity to become familiar with different aspects of their academic journey and seek clarification about matters related to university life and studies.

The program also featured an informative session on the Mentorship Program by Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor, Department of English and Director of CLCS and CCD. She highlighted the importance of mentorship, guidance, and continued support in helping students navigate their university journey and make a successful transition to university life.

The event was further enriched by an insightful address from the Special Guest, Prof. Dr. M. Shahidullah, Professor, Department of English and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Green University of Bangladesh. He encouraged the newly admitted students to embrace their university experience with enthusiasm, make effective use of the academic opportunities available to them, and remain engaged in their learning and personal development.

The program concluded with an inspiring address by the Session Chair, Associate Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Mondol, Chairperson, Department of English, Green University of Bangladesh. He warmly welcomed the students to the Department of English and shared valuable guidance and encouragement as they embarked on their new academic journey.

Adding a vibrant dimension to the occasion, the program concluded with a cultural segment presented by the students. The lively performances showcased their creativity, enthusiasm, and diverse talents, making the orientation a memorable celebration of new beginnings.
