Meet the Author: Anisul Hoque / মুখোমুখি আনিসুল হক

The Department of English at Green University of Bangladesh had the immense pleasure of organizing a program titled "Meet the Author" or "মুখোমুখি আনিসুল হক" on Thursday, May 30, 2024, featuring the renowned author Anisul Hoque.

The program began with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Serajum Munira, Associate Professor, Department of English and Director, CLCS, GUB. Throughout the event, attendees had the incredible opportunity to engage with Anisul Hoque, exploring the depth of his literary works and gaining valuable insights into his creative processes. The author’s captivating stories and reflections on his writing journey enriched the entire session.

As part of the program, Dr. Elham Hossain, Associate Professor, Department of English, and Dr. Md. Shamim Mondol, Associate Professor, Department of English, both from GUB, provided a critical appreciation of two of Anisul Hoque’s beloved novels: মা and কখনো আমার মাকে. Their thoughtful discussions illuminated the profound themes and emotional depth in Hoque's works, creating an engaging academic atmosphere.

We were honored to have Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, grace the occasion as our Chief Guest. Despite his busy schedule, he made time to attend and offer his esteemed support. Our Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, also joined as a Special Guest, along with Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, Distinguished Professor at the Green Business School, who shared his insightful thoughts with the audience.

The event concluded with Prof. Dr. M Shahidullah, Chairperson of the Department of English and Dean (Acting), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, offering his closing remarks. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, especially to Anisul Hoque, for taking time out of his busy schedule to join us at Green University of Bangladesh. His words wrapped up an unforgettable session, filled with inspiration and a deeper appreciation of literature.
